Getting Ready for Primary Years
The Monarch Preschool Program provides a results - oriented, individualized program for children 3 to 6 years old with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder, or ASD. Monarch Preschool offers a carefully created, secure and comfortable environment for half-day preschool classes.

Creating a positive cycle of learning
As with all Monarch services, our Preschool Program is built on the principle that every day is a successful one for the children. The Monarch Preschool Program is designed to prepare children for their primary school years. Our teaching team is devoted to delivering a real-world, early childhood education to each of our youngest students. We accomplish this by offering a curriculum that is rich in academic readiness, language-based communication and social skill development.

The Monarch philosophy and what sets it apart
For most children, language does not need to be explicitly taught. Rather, it is simply acquired through exposure to a language-rich environment. For children with ASD, an inability to acquire language skills in this manner is a hallmark of their condition. At Monarch, we believe that the most effective path to learning and communication for children with ASD is by combining explicit language instruction with structured visual supports.

Children’s Hospital of Boston and Massachusetts General Hospital Ultimately, the core of the Monarch model lies in developing a language system – spoken and visual – that assists a child in achieving their maximum potential as a member of the community. This state-of-the-art teaching model has been developed through an ongoing partnership with Harvard Medical School, Children’s Hospital of Boston and Massachusetts General Hospital, leaders in the development of effective treatments for children with ASD.

It’s all about the individual child
There are many different philosophies for treating ASD, from dietary regimen to behavioral modification. At Monarch, our approach is based on best practice. We utilize a variety of treatment approaches based on your child’s needs in conjunction with our language/visual teaching techniques. Why ? Because each child is an individual with specific strengths and weaknesses.

Partnering with families
At Monarch, the importance of family involvement is vital in treatment and education decisions made for each child. The Monarch teaching staff works closely with parents and families to integrate and transfer the s uccesses learned at Monarch to the home environment.

One-on-one attention
With Monarch, your child will get a completely individualized program with direct, one-on-one instruction and intensive therapeutic intervention. Working in collaboration, your child’s team of specialists will continually assess progress and modify treatments according to how well your child grows and responds. The Monarch Preschool curriculum is an intensive program that focuses on the individual needs of the child
