Your child's relationships |
At JDN, our guiding principle is a strong focus on your child's relationships. We value and support the unique bond he or she has with you and others. Therefore, we take special care to provide comforts that support and enhance connections to home.
* JDN StudentsTelephones in the classrooms enable children and parents to "reconnect" during the day to share successes and lend support when needed. Just as adults want to know loved ones are just a phone call away, children take comfort knowing that they can "touch base" with you if they need to.
* As parents, we wish we could share all of our child's experiences and achievements. Reading the lesson plan to learn about the child's daily activities can help parents feel a part of their child's school experience. This knowledge enables a family to have meaningful connections for conversations and sharing in the evenings. Lesson plans are posted in all classrooms, and a copy is sent home weekly to each family.
* Teachers encourage parents to share important home information so that they may better understand the child and offer help if questions or concerns arise during his or her school day. JDN Teachers are available daily for parents to converse regarding needs, successes, or concerns. We schedule two formal conferences in the fall and spring. Additional meetings can be scheduled upon request.
