Bellefaire's SAT programs are based on an integrated treatment model designed to address the complex needs of persons with co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders.
ASAP (Adolescent Substance Abuse Program)
ASAP serves the adolescent who has a substance abuse or dependence diagnosis and still lives with his or her family or guardian. Like the PACT program, ASAP provides services in the home and includes the adolescent's family in counseling in order to intervene on family dynamics as well as the individual adolescent. Best practice research continues to show combined mental health and alcohol and drug counseling is the most effective treatment for adolescents with co-occurring disorders. ASAP also includes a group component on Bellefaire's Shaker Heights Campus. All therapists are counselors or social workers with either certified chemical dependency certificates or extensive experience working with chemically dependent adolescents. The program, like PACT, is intensive, with counselors in the home or with the adolescent four to six hours a week for 90 days.
ITAP (Integrated Treatment and Aftercare Program)
ITAP is a treatment program for adolescents in Bellefaire's Residential Program who have mental health issues and a substance abuse diagnosis. These children participate in Bellefaire'smental health residential and partial hospitalization programs and are treated for substance abuse with individual, group, and family counseling (if the child's family is locally accessible). Aftercare planning and services are integrated into the client's treatment plan to help assure a smooth transition to home and a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.
MACT (Mothers and Children Together)
Bellefaire's MACT program provides intense, in-home, relapse-prevention and treatment services to recovering mothers and their children. The MACT program is designed to address both substance abuse and mental health issues, to strengthen sobriety, and to support a healthy and safe family environment. Services are delivered in the family's home or on the Bellefaire JCB campus. They include: assessment, diagnosis, treatment of both mental health and drug and alcohol disorders, individual and family relapse-prevention treatment, group-relapse prevention, linkage to the 12 step community, on-call support for crisis management, and case management services.
