Outpatient Therapy
Bellefaire mental health professionals provide play therapy and individual and family counseling. We utilize modern, effective methods, and devise treatment plans tailored to the specific needs of each client and family. Commonly addressed problems include:
* Parent-child conflicts
* Attention deficit-related disorders
* Oppositional behaviors
* Problems with mood or motivation
* Victimization from sexual or physical abuse or neglect
* Aggression
* Adjustment to stressors
Psychological Assessments and Comprehensive Evaluations
Psychological assessment services are provided to youth and children in the community to determine the sources of emotional and behavioral problems and to identify effective treatment strategies. Comprehensive evaluations are provided for youth involved with the juvenile court system to determine the presence of possible contributing mental health disorders and treatment recommendations. Licensed clinical psychologists perform or directly supervise all assessments and evaluations. Evaluations are usually completed in two to three office visits, lasting one to two hours each. Frequently addressed issues include:
* Determining the presence or absence of a specific mental health condition
* Examination of cognitive abilities
* Determining the level of academic skills
* Formulating treatment needs and strategies that are most likely to help the client
* Documenting changes in cognitive, academic, or emotional functioning
Psychiatry Services
Ongoing outpatient psychiatry services are available for children and adolescents in need of medication treatment to address mental health diagnoses. Psychiatry services include a complete psychiatry evaluation followed by ongoing follow-up psychiatry appointments.
