With lush lawns, shaded paths, and stone cottages, the setting for Bellefaire's Residential Treatment Program is serene. The tranquility is a welcome change for the children who live on our campus. All of them come here because of tumultuous circumstances.
Nearly all have been abused in one way or another, and some have been the abusers. All have mental health issues, and Bellefaire is one of the few places that can offer them hope. Placement at Bellefaire JCB occurs as a result of actions taken by local human service agencies, parents, and guardians, and by human service agencies from other states. Some placements come through the juvenile court system. Regardless of where the children come from, our goal is to help them become healthier. Some receive treatment and are able to return to their family homes; others move on to a foster home. Residential Treatment at Bellefaire JCB is geared to handle the most complex and extreme behavioral problems, and each treatment is individualized. Clients are assessed and placed in Intensive Treatment, Intermediate Treatment, in a Transitional Living Program, or — if they will be living on their own — in our Independent Living Program. We believe, "Kids are not their behaviors. They are resilient . . . they are survivors." We help them do that. To learn more, call Intake Services at Bellefaire JCB.
