True Sisters Child Care Curriculum |

We embrace an emergent curriculum which builds upon the interests of the children, their families, the culture of the families and all in a manner that is developmentally appropriate. Topics of study are captured from the talk of children through community, family events, and the Ohio Early Learning Content Standards.
We co-explore the learning experiences with children. We take ideas from the children and further delve into them. We organize the classroom and materials to be aesthetically pleasing and accessible to children. We document the children’s progress with visual portfolios and journals. We foster and value the connection between school, home and community.
Each school day is planned with particular attention to the needs of the children. Activities are designed to stimulate the children's developmental growth, increase their activities perception, and expand their interests. The children have opportunities to develop good muscle coordination and appropriate social skills. The children learn to share, cooperate, and respect the rights of other children and teachers.
We have cultural awareness activities in which parents are heartily invited to participate to share with all the children your own cultural heritage. This could be in the form of a story, book, snack, art, recipe, song, music, dance or other traditions. |
