Psychological Evaluations

All psychological evaluations are performed by, or are under the direct supervision of, licensed clinical psychologists. Commonly addressed problems include:

  • Determining the presence or absence of a specific mental health condition
  • Examination of cognitive abilities
  • Determining the level of academic skills
  • Formulating treatment needs and strategies most likely to help the client
  • Documenting changes in cognitive, academic or emotional functioning

Outpatient Treatment

Bellefaire JCB’s Outpatient Treatment Department provides individual, group and family therapy on our main campus. Additionally, Psychological Testing and Assessment is available, along with assessments for specialized treatment issues including; fire setting behaviors, sexual abuse, and sexual offending behaviors. Therapy and assessment services are provided by skilled, trained and professionally-licensed staff members, many of whom hold the terminal licensure in their respective fields. Clinical supervision and training is required for staff members who do not hold independent licenses and department-wide consultation occurs frequently regarding specialized populations, individual cases, and new evidence-based intervention models.

Understanding Your Health Record/Information
Each time your child sees a healthcare provider, a record of the visit is made. Typically, this record contains symptoms, examination and test results, diagnoses, treatment and a plan for future care or treatment.

Commonly Addressed Problems

In Outpatient Therapy some commonly addressed problems include:

  • Parent-child or child-sibling conflicts
  • Attention deficit-related disorders
  • Oppositional behaviors
  • Problems with mood or motivation
  • Victims of sexual or physical abuse
  • Aggression
  • Adjustment to stressors

Psychological Evaluations commonly addresses some of the following problems:
