 His autism made the mainstream classroom unbearable. For a child with autism, an overly stimulating environment can spell disaster.
So when one school insisted on placing Tommy Logan in a mainstream
classroom, his parents weren’t surprised when he lashed out at his
teacher. Tommy, then only a first grader, was nearly expelled. That
incident was one of many setbacks the Logan family experienced before
they enrolled Tommy in Monarch School. “Coming to Monarch has been our
greatest blessing,” says Rhonda Logan. “Every detail of Monarch is
designed for the special needs of children with autism. Before, there
were very few times we felt good about Tommy’s schooling. Monarch has
changed that. |
